DuoPhase brings the legendary dual-phaser architecture of the 1970s to your DAW: two independent 6-stage optical phasers that run alone, cascade in series for deep 12-stage swirls, or split into a wide parallel stereo field — all driven by two free-running or tempo-synced sweep generators.
Phase shifting is one of the most recorded effects in music history. From the moment optical phasers appeared in the early seventies they became a fixture of the studio and the stage — that slow, liquid swirl all over classic-rock rhythm guitar, the throb behind psychedelic and blues-rock leads, the shimmer on Rhodes and Clavinet in seventies funk and soul, and the wide, watery motion running through prog, reggae, dub, and early synth records. Decades later the same swirl drives shoegaze washes, neo-soul keys, and modern synthwave pads. The dual-phaser design DuoPhase recreates was the deepest of them all — because two phasers moving at once do what no single phaser can: the sweeps interact, drift, and breathe.
The original circuits swept the phase stages with lamps and photocells. Photocells don’t move instantly — they lag, rounding every sweep into something organic. DuoPhase models that behavior, so even a square-wave LFO becomes a soft, pulsing throb instead of a hard chop.
Each phaser has its own Depth, Feedback, and Normal / Reverse sweep — run one, or push both for a 12-stage cascade.
Sine or square, 0.05–12 Hz, free-running or host-synced — assign either generator to either phaser for interacting, drifting motion.
Phaser A, Phaser B, Series A→B for depth, or Parallel Stereo for a wide, watery field across the mix.
Per-generator sync from 1/1 to 1/16 — dotted and triplet — for rhythmic, square-wave phasing that pulses in time.
Photocell-lag modeling smooths every sweep, turning even a hard square LFO into a soft, breathing throb.
Slow swirls, Leslie-style ramps, vibe throbs, ocean pads, and synced square chops — starting points for guitars, keys, and stems.
Phase-coherent 4-band mastering compressor with interactive spectrum and A/B peak-hold.

64-voice hybrid subtractive + 6-op FM polysynth with 8 algorithms.
Multi-engine reverb: a true-stereo convolver plus six algorithms, with shimmer, freeze, duck, and delay-into-reverb.
Physically-modeled tape saturation — harmonic warmth, transient punch, smooth top end, and wow/flutter motion from a single insert.
Six-voice virtual analogue polysynth — rock-stable oscillator, creamy four-pole filter, and a two-mode stereo chorus.
